Reiki + Chakra Balancing
WHAT IS IT?
Reiki is a form of alternative therapy that involves the transfer of healing energy through the hands of a practitioner to the recipient. It is a Japanese technique that was developed in the early 20th century and is based on the belief that there is a universal energy or life force that flows through all living things.
Reiki practitioners believe that we all have this life force energy, also known as Ki or Qi, which flows through our bodies. When this energy is blocked or imbalanced, it can lead to physical or emotional issues.
Reiki practitioners use their hands to channel this energy into the recipient's body, with the aim of balancing and harmonizing their energy systems, promoting relaxation and reducing stress, and supporting the body's natural healing processes. The practitioner may use various hand positions, either on or above the recipient's body, and may focus on specific areas of the body, depending on the recipient's needs.
Many people have reported significant improvements in their physical and emotional well-being after undergoing Reiki treatment.
Dr. Mikao Usui, a spiritual seeker from Japan, introduced the healing practice of Reiki to the world in 1922 following a profound spiritual encounter. It is believed that after a devastating earthquake struck Japan, Usui was compelled to share his knowledge and began teaching others the practice.
During a typical Reiki session, the patient lies down or sits comfortably while the practitioner places their hands on or near different parts of the body. The practitioner then channels the energy into the patient through their hands, which can create a sensation of warmth, tingling, or relaxation.
WHAT DOES IT INVOLVE?
Prior to your arrival I will have you fill out an intake form and discuss if you have any allergies; most notably to scents and smells. Once you arrive at the location the room is set up to facilitate the highest intention for your Reiki session. In the treatment room you will find a Reiki bed with fresh sheets, comfy blankets, pillows and an eye mask to ensure you can fully relax. There will also be ambient meditative music playing, soft lighting and some relaxing scents will be filling the room. Once you arrive at the treatment room we will discuss what your intentions are for the session and I will outline what to expect during the session.
Please wear comfortable clothing as Reiki sessions are performed fully clothed and you will be on the Reiki bed for an hour -
A typical Reiki session usually involves the recipient lying down comfortably on a massage table or sitting in a chair, fully clothed. The Reiki practitioner begins by gently placing their hands on or near the recipient's body in a series of hand positions, starting at the head and working down towards the feet. The practitioner may also hold their hands in a particular position for a longer period of time if they sense a blockage or an area that needs additional attention.
During the session, the recipient may feel sensations such as warmth, tingling, or a gentle pulsing in various parts of their body. They may also experience a deep sense of relaxation or even fall asleep. It's common for people to feel emotional during a Reiki session, as it can help release pent-up emotions and feelings.
The session typically lasts between 45 minutes to an hour, although it can be shorter or longer depending on the practitioner and the needs of the recipient. After the session, the practitioner may offer some guidance or feedback to the recipient based on what they sensed during the session. It's important for the recipient to drink plenty of water and rest after a Reiki session to allow the healing process to continue.
